Local Media Drops in at Mobile Bike Hub
July 23rd started out like any other perfect summer day as I undocked a Bublr Bike and made my way to the Mobile Bike Hub at the 29th & Burnham Pocket Park. But it turned out to be a very special one for LBWN’s Mobile Bike Hub with reporters from two local media outlets – Channel 58’s Telemundo reporter Cristina Navarrete and Neighborhood News Services’ reporter Raina Johnson – visiting the Hub to get more information about this free bicycle repair program.
Both reporters stopped by the pocket park to interview Hub interns Diana Gutierrez and Gabriel Manzanet as well as Mobile Bike Hub coordinator Jorian Giorno. Diana and Gabriel are seniors at Escuala Verde who are interning with the Mobile Bike Hub for the summer. Click here for CBS 58 Telemundo interview. I got a chance to talk to both reporters as well. They were both excited to hear about bike share coming to Milwaukee.
At the close of the Mobile Bike Hub for the day, I cycled over to the Silver City Bike to Concert night featuring the local band Vic & Gab. The concert highlighted local cycling organizations, such as the Wisconsin Bike Fed and Midwest Bike Share. Concertgoers got an opportunity to check out the bike and learn more about the upcoming system.
It was a full but great day for cycling on Milwaukee’s south side!
