History of the Bubbler
Thanks to supporter Ed Makowski for throwing over the following Bubbler history:
Way back in 1888 a guy called Harlan Huckleby came up with a design for a water fountain. His “Bubbler” shot water about an inch in the air, similar to a bubbling natural spring. The company Harlan worked for was located about 60 miles outside of Milwaukee, and ran with the Bubbler name. As a result of strong branding, Bubblers became synonymous with water fountains in this part of the country. Original examples are still bubbling around the state capitol in Madison. Harlan’s employer, Kohler, still produces bubblers about a day’s ride north of Milwaukee.
Our team is excited to make our own history with Bublr Bikes.
