Bublr Winter Shut Down Complete :(
In Wisconsin, winter is never too far away and Bublr Bikes knew when we launched in August that we’d shut down for a few of the coldest and snowiest months of the year. As we’ve previously written, that time has come.
A few weeks ago we removed the Cathedral Square station because it was located on the street within striking distance of snow plows. Yesterday we removed the 411 East Wisconsin and Wisconsin Center Bublr Stations and placed them into storage. The folks at 411 East Wisconsin graciously allowed us to store the station on site. Thank you 411 East Wisconsin and Riverview Realty Partners for always stepping up. The Wisconsin Center station is being stored at Rockwell Automation. Thank you Rockwell for all that you’re doing to support Bublr.
Today we put away all of the Bublr Bikes. Again, we couldn’t have done it without our supporters. The Bublr Bikes will live out the winter in space provided by Mandel Group, another one of our great supporters. Thank you to the Mandel team for doing so much to make urban Milwaukee exciting.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be “winterizing” the Bublr stations that remain in place. We will remove the sensitive electronics and seal up any remaining openings on the stations to keep out snow, salt, and ice.
We’ll be updating you soon on our 2014 progress. Please continue using a bicycle to travel around and explore greater Milwaukee. And, of course, please look forward to the 2015 Bublr season. We hope to see you and a BUNCH of new people Bublr’n around next Spring!
